It is true that the new Tanzania Employment and Labor Relations Act 2004 introduced a totally different system. Compared to the abolished  legal framework the new law is less prescriptive and provides minimum requirements. This means that there is a much wider spectrum for employers and employees for negotiating the terms and conditions of employment and agreeing on
standards. Likewise, the legal procedures are less cumbersome than the old legal framework, which should facilitate smoother dispute resolution. Consequently, the new labour regime is based on tripartism or as it is also named, social partnership
